While we have chosen to keep our ceremony small and intimate at Kacena Farms in Iowa, our wedding day wouldn’t be complete without celebrating with all of you. Later that same day, we can’t wait to gather everyone together at Kacena Farms for a joyful reception filled with love, laughter, and dancing. If it weren’t for a chance meeting at a John Deere part-time student event, we might not be here today. What started as a casual conversation between Payten and a girl named Jolie Dickson (now Jolie Beason) turned into something truly life-changing. Jolie just knew Payten needed to meet Luke. Along with her husband, Zach, one of Luke’s closest friends, she couldn’t stop talking about what a great guy Luke was and made it her personal mission to convince Payten to give him a chance. They brought it up often, refused to drop it, and clearly were right. Their confidence, persistence, and belief in Luke (and in “us”) finally worked. A funny part of our story is that when Luke first met Payten, she playfully told him he was “just like every other guy.” Clearly, that didn’t age well. One introduction led to a first date, then many more, and eventually to this moment. Along the way, we didn’t just find each other; we gained lifelong friends. So here we are, getting married, thanks to a random meeting, a little matchmaking, and two people who believed in our story before we even did.
