Our story began during our first year of high school when we would ride the bus together every day. However, Jakob transferred to a charter school after our freshman year, and we lost touch. Despite this, we remained connected through social media. It wasn't until we randomly reconnected in college, that we started talking every day and realized how much we missed each other's company. Eventually, Jakob made the spontaneous decision to visit me at WCU, and we had our first date. We went out for dinner and then took a drive down the beautiful blue ridge parkway to watch the sunset. The rest is history!

As I was preparing for my college graduation weekend, I had no idea that I would be receiving a ring on top of my diploma. Jakob had asked to take pictures for graduation and I had mentioned it to my friend Sophie who is a photographer and she agreed to take our pictures as a practice couples shoot at the Jackson County Airport. She had no clue Jakob had plans of proposing when she agreed to take pictures until Jakob let her in on the secret. Jakob had it all planned out, Sophie would take pictures, Zoe would be there to take a few pictures with Jakob and I and Haleigh was coming with her own camera “to practice taking pictures.” While taking pictures Zoe started fixing my hair to distract me and Jakob got down on one knee. I was SO surprised since I had no idea he was planning to propose. Little did I know, Jakob had worked with my friends and family to create an unforgettable surprise proposal. Needless to say, this moment made my graduation all the more memorable, and I said yes to the love of my life.
