Flight

SFO or OAK

For the smoothest arrival, we recommend booking flights into San Francisco International Airport (SFO). It’s the closest airport to our hotel recommendations and will give you the quickest commute into the city (about 20–30 minutes by car, depending on traffic). From SFO, the easiest option is to take an Uber/Lyft or taxi straight to the hotel. For those who prefer public transit, the BART train runs directly from the airport into downtown San Francisco in about 30 minutes. If flights into SFO aren’t available, Oakland International (OAK) is another good option (about 30–40 minutes away). San Jose (SJC) is further out—about 60–90 minutes—and best suited if you’re planning a longer Bay Area stay.
