We met in 2023 when Stephen was in Rochester for the PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club. We matched together on the dating app, Hinge, and Stephen was being super shy so Claire had to make the first move! Stephen was starting a new Postmaster assignment and commuting every day from Syracuse to Newark. With Newark being only 40 minutes away from Rochester, we kept in constant communication until we had planned our first date at Trata, located near Park Avenue in Rochester where Claire was living. After just a few dates, our connection and admiration for each other was instant! Stephen then took a permanent supervisor job at the Downtown Rochester post office and officially moved to Rochester to be closer to Claire. Living together after only 5 months of dating... some would call us crazy. Actually, no one called us crazy (at least to our face)... I guess everyone else could see what we could see. Claire quickly showed Stephen all of her favorite spots across Rochester. We enjoyed taking our dog, Ruth, on walks across Park Avenue, enjoying dinner at our favorite restaurant, Verns, and getting coffee on Sunday mornings at Cafe Sasso. Park Avenue is where our love blossomed! We also share a deep connection for music, Claire loving everything about Taylor Swift and Stephen obsessing over the Zac Brown Band (and his infamous spreadsheet). In 2024, we traveled to Toronto to see Taylor perform in the ERA's Tour (Claire's third time seeing the tour) and went to the Sphere in Las Vegas in 2025 when Zac Brown announced his residency. Along with music, we never miss a football Sunday! Claire being an avid Green Bay Packers fan and Stephen rooting for the New England Patriots. In 2024, we realized we were quickly outgrowing our apartment and bought a house together in Penfield. Turning a house into a home has been a constant slogan for us as we have enjoyed doing many home improvement projects together. (Together is a term used loosely). Stephen proposed to Claire at Leonore's restaurant, located in the mentioned Park Avenue neighborhood, on September 18, 2025. Stephen succeeded in surprising Claire, a feat that Claire has always stated as "It's impossible to surprise me". We are so excited to celebrate our love with the most important people in our lives and cannot wait to party with everyone on August 14!! (8+1+4=13 nbd). Go Pack and Go Pats! Love, Claire and Stephen
