Question

What about the traditional wedding elements?

Answer

Registry, meal selection, bridal shower, oh my! We got married in our own backyard with a seriously gorgeous Hudson Valley fall backdrop (no joke—come enjoy the wooded mountain ridge directly behind the house!). We had a wonderful night surrounded by a small group of loved ones. We don’t need the full checklist—we've kept the parts that matter most to us. There's no registry, no expectation, and we will be offering a family-style meal (possibly catered) with open seating throughout our home, porch, and back patio area (weather allowing). The menu will lean vegetarian-friendly and include snacks, sweets, hot foods, drinks (sober and not-so-sober), and more. IF YOU HAVE FOOD SENSITVITIES, please let us know so we can plan accordingly. :)

What time is the party?

Answer

TBD! But we expect to kick things off no later than 4:00PM EDT. Sunset will be at 6:23PM, and—personal opinion—late afternoon is an absolutely beautiful time of day at the house. So don't be surprised if we decide we'll get going earlier :) Expect that it will run into the night (until celebrations wind down). More to come!

What should I wear?

Answer

We love a good excuse to dress up, but there’s no expectation of anything overly formal—feel free to leave the tuxedos, ballgowns, and red carpet looks at home (unless you're really feeling it, in which case… shine on!). Nice jeans are totally welcome, but maybe skip the work boots. And a heads up: the yard and patio can be a little uneven, so sky-high heels might turn into an adventure. We’ll be looking nice and encourage you to do the same—but ultimately, we want you to feel comfortable, like yourself, and ready to enjoy the day.

Anything important I should know about the house?

Answer

Yes—this is very much a cat house. We have several cats, and while you’re unlikely to see them (they’ll be safely tucked away to prevent any great escape attempts), they do live here full-time. We stay on top of cleaning and do our best to manage fur and dander, but if you have allergies, please take that into consideration and come prepared.
