State Street is lined with restaurants, bars, and shops, connecting the UW-Madison campus to the Wisconsin State Capitol. Start near Memorial Library or the Capitol and walk ~1 mile to get the full experience.
Head to Capitol Square between 6:15 AM to 1:45 PM on Saturday morning for the largest producer-only farmers’ market in the country.
The Capitol building is located in the heart of downtown Madison and free to enter. It offers some amazing architecture inside that is well worth a quick visit!
The Terrace is classic Madison hangout spot located right on Lake Mendota. Enjoy some Spotted Cow beer, live music, and food while taking in the lake views. They also sell Babcock ice cream which is made with local dairy right on campus.
