This couple’s story is one that demonstrates how being friends first can create an unwavering foundation for a future together. Katelyn (aka “KP”) and Dominic grew up in the same hometown of Long Valley, NJ and first met in sixth grade. They were in several classes together, hung out with similar friends, went to each other’s sporting events, and enjoyed an upbringing in the same community. They both attended Rowan University where their friendship really started to become stronger. Freshman year was a big change for both Dom and KP, but they found comfort in having a hometown friend on campus. Their paths crossed many times over those four years. Each time brought excitement to one another when they realized they were at the same event. Graduating in 2020, Dominic moved back home while KP stayed in Glassboro. When one of them was in town, it often meant stopping by to catch up before leaving. One day, they had lunch together, and when Dom was telling a story, KP silently realized she had some strong feelings for Dominic. By fall of 2021, Dominic had moved into his new home in Philadelphia, and the two hung out more often. They had to really consider the pros and cons of risking their 13 year friendship if they were to start dating. Our couple decided that thinking of everything that could go right outweighed anything that could go wrong. By midnight on January 1st, 2022, they were sealing their relationship with a kiss in Penn Treaty Park while they watched fireworks off the Ben Franklin Bridge. Four years later, Dom and KP now live together in Pitman, NJ with their dog Honeybun. They have many things in common, but one of their favorite things is to spend time on the beach. They cannot wait to have all of their closest family and friends at their wedding. Thank you for continuing to support their relationship together. It will be a day to remember forever.
