We met the way a lot of people do these days....online! I went out with my girlfriends for a nice relaxing night out on February 29, 2020. They started to ask how the dating pool was going and honestly, it wasn't. Later that night, I told them if I didn't hear back from one of the last people I reached out to, then I was going to delete my profile and just go with the flow. Fast forward to my arrival home for the night. I logged onto the app one last time with the intentions of deleting it, and there it was....the response I was hoping for!! We met a couple days later for ice cream at a Dunkin/Baskin Robins in Redford and talked for a good few hours. We listened to all different types of music, and were shocked by how much we had in common. I left that night feeling like I had known him my whole life. We had our first "Official" date on March 6th...He planned the whole thing! We went out to dinner at a Sushi place near my apartment (thought I'd give it another try...still don't like it lol) and then we went to The Ivory Room and shot some pool for close to 6 hours! We had so much fun!! Soon, Covid was starting to shut everything down. His living arrangements changed in the blink of an eye, and the next thing I knew....less than 3 weeks later.....he was moving in with me, because it was either that, or be homeless since he was originally from Missouri and had only been in Michigan for a couple months at that point. We hunkered down, bought a lot of whiskey and various puzzles, quizzed one another on our knowledge of country music, staying up until 5 am, watched Tiger King (that one still makes me laugh to think back on), danced in the kitchen, cooked meals together, went on so many adventures, bought a camper....the list seriously goes on! He instantly became one of the most important people in my life and I knew that if we could survive a Global Pandemic together and not murder one another, lol, we could most definitely conquer the rest of this crazy life together!! Since we have been together, we have endured a lot outside of the Pandemic. We moved to Northern Michigan and started a whole new life up here. We have bounced around from job to job until we found the right fit for us. We said goodbye to my boy Rudy way too soon, adopted 2 new fur babies, got engaged, made some new friends, and then March 6, 2023 happened. It was our 3 year Anniversary and the last thing we ever expected to happen, happened....David had a Stroke. I felt like my world was crumbling around me. He is so young, how could this happen?! Shortly thereafter, we found out he had a hole in his heart. To say I was scared would be an understatement. Now, after 1 week in the hospital, 3 months of Dr. Appts, me missing a lot of time at work, and a surgery to repair the hole in his heart, things are finally starting to turn around! I honestly do not know what I would have done if I had lost him. He has been my rock, my shoulder, my everything for the past 3 and a half years....life would have never been the same without him! Here we are....just months away from saying our "I Do's" and getting to annoy one another for the rest of our lives!! I can't wait to see what our future holds, and all the new adventures we go on!! I Love You David, and I cannot wait to be your Wife!!
