How did we meet?

Answer

We met when we were in graduate school in Iowa. It was rare to find a Nebraska boy in Iowa, and we hit it off right away at the first date. Five years later the rest is history!

What was your first date?

Answer

I was living in downtown Des Moines during graduate school, and there was a world food fair downtown. At the time, little did I know, Joseph enjoys more midwestern cuisine than around the world, but he was a trooper. Joseph was a gentleman, and there was excitement to see him again after the first date.

How did he Propose?

Answer

Joseph created a complete surprise with the proposal. I kept asking to go see Wicked, the movie, that day. He did not want to go at first. Then, he came back and said let's go at 12pm. Odd for a movie time, I thought, but okay. Then, after getting a work out in Joseph comes in and says he needs to take a vet call about a horse for his brother. I had five minutes to get out the door. Joseph drove out to a pasture on top of a hill fairly urgently. After getting around the pickup Joseph was on one knee. He proposed and I said "YES!". His timing was great for the sunset, and he found a really beautiful spot. He had dinner reservations set up that evening, and we got to enjoy the night!

Where can I park?

Answer

Parking lots at St. Patrick's Church can be used during the ceremony. Vehicles will need to be moved after the ceremony for those coming to mass later that afternoon. The reception place, Venue304, is about one block from St. Patrick's church, located in the middle of downtown. There is street parking as well as over 300 parking stalls within a one block radius of the building. There are 4 large public parking lots ranging from 1/2 block to one block away from the front doors.

How do you get to North Platte?

Answer

North Platte is easiest to get to by driving if you are in driving distance. If you are coming from further away, there is a flight from Denver to North Platte that runs everyday except Tuesday and Wednesday. There is also an option to fly to either Omaha, Lincoln, or Denver and drive from there. - Omaha airport drive time is 4hrs. - Denver is 3.5hrs from the airport. - Lincoln airport is a 3hrs drive.

Can I rent a car in North Platte?

Answer

You can rent a car in North Platte if you choose to fly into North Platte. North Platte is not very big, but there is plenty to see for a few days. Options for rental cars: Enterprise, Hertz or Thrifty. Please see travel tab for links to rental car companies.

Can I take Uber or Lyft?

Answer

If you plan to use Uber or Lyft there are very few in town. They do run from time to time, but not always reliable. There is a cab service in town you can call at (308) 532-2345. They do not work on Sundays. The hotels do not offer shuttle service currently. We are arranging a shuttle to the ceremony and back from the reception for those staying at the Avid, Candlewood Suites or Best Western Plus. More information can be found on the travel tab.
