If your invitation says "and Family", then yes. We have invited some kids who are immediate family to the bride and groom. If your invitation doesn't say this, please know that we love your kids, but would prefer that you make it a date night!
Please make a note of any dietary restrictions in your RSVP and we'll be happy to accommodate.
Please let the bride, groom or their respective family members know if you already have a prior engagement on the wedding day. Invitations with formal RSVP instructions will arrive next spring but we would appreciate you letting us know ahead of time.
The dress code for the day is semi-formal so no need to break out the tux or gown (though you can if you want to!). Feel free to wear Western/American or South Asian attire - whatever you feel most comfortable in regardless of your cultural background. We want the day to be a celebration of both of our cultures and for guests to be able to dress accordingly. For the non-Indians that want to wear Indian attire - my family and I (the bride) personally haven't bought much South Asian clothing in the US since we typically buy a few outfits when we take trips to see our family in India every few years. I've recently come across a site called House of Indya (clothes for women only) that has some reasonably priced Indo-western clothes that ship from India. Generally, for women's attire you can search for salwar kameez or lehenga (wouldn't recommend a sari unless you know how to wrap it) and for men you can look for a kurta or sherwani. I believe Amazon and ASOS have some South Asian clothing. I'll update this response as I come across more options.
Both the Bengali and American ceremonies will be in the backyard of the Inn at Vint Hill and will be on the grassy lawn so be cognizant of your footwear choice. The reception will be under the sail tent, which is also in the backyard.
