How do I get from the CDG airport in Paris, to the venue in Normandy?

Answer

The fastest and most simple way is to take a taxi (Flat rate of 55 Euros in 2023) from CDG airport to Gare St Lazare , which will be the train station that will take you to Mezidon-Canon in Normandie ( with 1 connection in Lisieux) the closest train station from the wedding venue in Ouezy (4min drive). Question

I want to visit Normandy while there, are you organizing any visit?

Answer

Yes, we are looking into renting a bus at a small fee per person, and go visit the Mont St Michel, St Malo (Brittany), then the D-Day Beaches and Caen, then Deauville and Honfleur, for those interested. Please check back with us on this if interested.

Question

Do french people speak english?

Answer

While Paris and other touristy areas have a lot of English speakers, the rest of France tends to not really speak it well with exceptions of course. Learning basic French words and sentences is strongly encouraged. Here is a start: Bonjour Hello, Good morning Salut Hi Coucou Hey Bon après-midi Good afternoon (Used as a bye only) Bonsoir Good evening Enchanté(e) Nice to meet you (masculine, feminine) Comment allez-vous ? How are you? (formal) Comment ça va ? How are you? (semi formal) Comment vas-tu ? How are you? (informal) Au revoir Goodbye À plus ! Later! (informal) Merci et bonne journée Thank you and have a nice day Merci et bonne soirée Thank you and have a nice evening Quoi de neuf ? What’s new? (slang)

Question

I want to visit Paris, are you organizing any visit?

Answer

There will not be any organized visit by us of Paris, as it is easy to do on your own without a bus/car. Paris has well used public transportation like NYC, like the Bus, Metro (Subway), Taxis or even Uber. Walking is also very easy all around Paris. The city also has city bike rentals called Velib", just be careful with traffic. If you need a list of must see in Paris, please refer to the "Things to do" tab on this website under Paris!

Question

I would like to rent a car in France, how do I do this?

Answer

You can rent a car at the CDG airport in Paris, as long as you are over 25 yo and have had your driver's license for over a year. Although not always requested, for peace of mind, we advise to get your international driver's license on the AAA website https://www.aaa.com/vacation/idpf.html as some rental companies could request it. While driving in France, remember the following rules differ from the US rules: -You cannot turn right at a red light -You cannot "cruise" on the left lane, it is only for passing slow cars, and the French are very strict on this. -Every time you enter a city, the speed limit is 50km at the city name sign (you have to know this, it won't be written), unless otherwise specified. -All highways are 130km (unless otherwise specified), but 110km if it is raining. -Last but not least, French people have a "priority to the person coming to your right" policy if that person does not have a stop sign or yield sign. This one is very important, but will mainly be found on smaller country roads.

Question

What are the rules I need to be aware of at the venue?

Answer

Please be aware that there are about 1500 animals in the park of the castle. The venue asks the following of our guests: *Do not run behind animals *Do not open cages *Do not put fingers in animal cages *Do not touch or pick up eggs *Do not approach waterways *Do not shout unnecessarily *Do not throw stones or branches *As a general rule, do not litter throughout the property: use the trash cans and follow the recycling signs on the trash bins. *Do not climb into the treetop cabins unless you booked it. *Do not throw anything into the waterways. *Close the gates behind you. *Any wandering at night outside of the lit up areas is strictly prohibited. Any damage will result in legal action, including on the criminal side. Please be aware of dangers (waterways, electric fences, etc.) and specifically prohibit all unaccompanied children from wandering alone, and more generally any use of the park beyond the immediate surroundings of the rooms, as soon as night falls.
