He introduced himself to the girl sitting behind him, not thinking much of it at first. Justin and Pauline's journey began at UC Davis in 2020, where they met as classmates. Justin, a recent engineering transfer, had a habit of enrolling in "fun" classes each quarter to stay balanced. Pauline, a second-year economics major on track to graduate early, joined the same class to fulfill one of her final general education requirements. Yet, instead of biking to his next class, Justin would walk there with Pauline—even if it meant arriving five minutes late. Little did he know, Pauline would backtrack to grab her favorite milk tea at iTea before heading to her next class. Despite the uncertainties of the pandemic, their bond only grew stronger. Pauline, known for her steady diet of eggs, ramen, and milk tea, began honing her cooking skills to prepare homemade dinners for their dates. Meanwhile, Justin focused on getting his academics and life in order to be his best self for these moments. By the summer of 2021, they celebrated their accomplishments, walking across the graduation stage one after the other. In 2022, with the hope of closing the distance between them, Justin proposed to Pauline at a location in Southern California that held special meaning—where they had spent time during Justin’s first visit in 2020. A year later, they officially tied the knot at San Jose City Hall, choosing to prioritize moving in together, traveling abroad, and saving for a home. Thanks to the love and support of their families, they were able to purchase a house last year. Today, Justin and Pauline are overjoyed to celebrate their union at the happiest place on Earth. They feel incredibly blessed to share this joyous occasion with loved ones and look forward to making cherished memories together!
