Their love story began when Josh saw a picture of Pauline with his sister, Murielle, on Facebook during Thanksgiving 2015. He expressed his interest to Murielle, but since he was living in Chicago their chances of meeting were extremely slim. Little did they know the opportunity to meet in person would come a year later when Josh moved to California to pursue a law degree. Prior to meeting Josh, Pauline had been purposefully single for almost 4 years waiting for the "right man". She had been friends with Josh's sister for a few years and heard a lot of good things about him. They met once briefly at church, but it wasn't until Thanksgiving 2016, in Murielle's home with the essence of family surrounding them, that the two finally got a chance to formally meet. They took their time getting to know each other the next few months as friends and then became exclusive on March 25, 2017. The rest is history! There's no coincidence in love, it is purposeful. God orchestrated their every move, every meeting and will be the foundation of their marriage for the rest of their life.
It was an intimate and private proposal. Josh took Pauline out to an early dinner for her 30th birthday to Sam's Chowder House in Half Moon Bay, CA. The restaurant overlooks the waters of El Grenada Beach. Knowing that Pauline loves the water, he knew it would be the perfect place to propose. Josh was extremely nervous and Pauline had her suspicions. His heart as well as his mind were racing. At the same time, Pauline was secretly looking around to see if she could find a little square box. After dinner he took her for a walk on the beach and as he expressed his love and commitment to her, he got down on one knee . She was so elated she couldn't say anything else but, "YESSSS!" The rest of the evening they sat on the beach and watched the sunset. It was a beautiful memory that they both will share forever.
