With the abundance of taxi services available, it will not be necessary to rent a car. However, if you want to explore the surrounding area of La Crucecita, there are options to rent a car at the Huatulco airport.
ALL marked taxis are regulated, regarding the color of them, and they all charge the same rates. Any taxi you get in is 100% safe. Pesos are necessary. Tipping: If tip is not included it is customary to leave 10% tip, of course you do what you feel is right! USD is not accepted in Huatulco only Pesos. You can exchange before you go, exchange in Mexico, or go to an ATM upon arrival.
Make sure to pack bug spray, hats, sunscreen, and comfy shoes! The city has a laid-back, chill vibe—just like us! Be open to trying some of the local delicacies, too, as there are some really interesting dishes to sample. Always ask for bottled water wherever you go, and remember, it’s going to be pretty hot in March, but you’re on vacation, so pack for a typical warm, sunny day in Mexico!
