We were both working at Charles Schwab. I had just met Cale through studying for our series 7 license. The more I got to know him, the more I fell for him. We went to a movie with two other friends and I couldn't stop staring at him (hehe). I think he was looking at me too. The next week we went to a movie again, he kissed me, and we've been together ever since.
Cale took me to see one of my favorite contemporary artist's exhibit that had just opened up at the DMA. I kept talking about it to friends and asking if anyone was interested in going. Instead, he surprised me with plans for a date together with dinner after. It was so fun. We got rained on getting out of the museum, which was the best way to end the day.
Well as many of us have been, Cale and I were stuck at the house for weeks at this point except for the occasional times I would go into the clinic for work or out to get groceries. Apparently he had the ring for some time. He had an original plan that just couldn't pan out due to the pandemic and shelter-in-place orders. Instead, he asked if I wanted to have a date night in with food from one of our favorite restaurants. I came home with the take-out. As we finished eating, I got up to get us some ice cream sandwiches for our dessert. I turned around and he was down on one knee and asked me to marry him! It was so special and intimate. Stevie got to be there too, hehe. We danced and finished our ice cream sandwiches and wine.
Due to Covid-19, we changed our plans from having our wedding celebration on November 27, 2020 and postponed it to November 26, 2021. We decided to get married through the Dallas County courts and celebrated with just our parents and siblings. With the circumstances of the pandemic, we wanted to go ahead and get married :) We hope that by the end of 2021 we will be able to celebrate with more friends and family should the issues of the virus continue to improve.
