FAQs

The Wedding Website of Paulina Parsons and Ajay Shimoga
We're so excited to have you all join us this summer! See below for answers for commonly asked questions we've received. If you have further questions not addressed here, please don't hesitate to reach out to us!
Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please kindly RSVP by June 15, 2026!

Question

Is there a recommended arrival time for out-of-town guests?

Answer

Our recommendation is to arrive Friday afternoon or evening for Saturday's festivities. If you wish to attend Friday morning's Hindu wedding ceremony, we'd advise arriving Thursday afternoon or evening.

Question

Is there a hotel room block?

Answer

Yes! Hotel room blocks have been created at: > Hilton Garden Inn Roslyn (10 min drive to church, 30 min to temple, 15 min drive to reception) > Adria Hotel (20 min drive to church, 15 min to temple, 30 min to reception) > Sheraton LaGuardia East Hotel (40 min drive to church, 10 min drive to temple, 45 min drive to reception; this hotel is also 5 min walk to the Flushing Main Street LIRR train station, which is a 20 min train ride to Manhasset where a shuttle is available for pick-up (pick up times TBD). Though not part of the room block, we also suggest considering the The Roslyn, Tapestry Collection by Hilton (10 min drive to church, 30 min to temple, 15 min drive to reception). Please refer to the "Travel" tab for more instructions to book a room. Keep in mind that the FIFA World Cup will be underway this summer resulting in elevated room rates elsewhere, so our recommendation is to book your accommodations sooner than later before the block fills up.

Question

Do I need to attend all events on the schedule?

Answer

Our wedding will be celebrated with a Hindu ceremony on Friday and a church ceremony and reception on Saturday. We understand that weekday timing of the Hindu Ceremony may not work for everyone, but guests are warmly welcome if able to attend!

Question

What should guests expect at the Hindu wedding ceremony?

Answer

The Hindu wedding ceremony will be a ~1 hour South Indian religious ceremony followed by an authentic vegetarian Indian lunch. Guests will be seated during the course of the ceremony and will be given a program to follow-along the various stages of the ceremony.

Question

Will transportation be provided between venues?

Answer

Transportation will be provided on Saturday from the church ceremony at Congregational Church of Manhasset to Muttontown Club. Furthermore, transportation will be provided at the end of the evening from Muttontown Club back to both the Congregational Church and Manhasset LIRR train station.

Question

If I'm driving, is parking available at each venue?

Answer

Free parking is available at Congregational Church and Muttontown Club. Free parking is also available during the Hindu wedding ceremony, both in the temple's parking lot (Smart St.) and at Flushing Hospital Parking Lot (Burlingame St.). If guests park at Flushing Hospital, please bring your paid parking slip to be validated by the temple's security staff.

Question

What is the dress code for each event?

Answer

Good question! See below for details: Hindu Wedding Ceremony [Friday, July 17; Indoors]: Men may wear either American semi-formal attire or South Indian wedding attire (Kurta Pajama). Women may wear either American semi-formal or South Indian wedding attire (Salwar Kameez, Lehenga, or Saree with blouse). All colors and patterns are welcome! Keep in mind that temple attire leans more conservative, so please make sure your shoulders and knees are covered. Some exposed midriff is acceptable. Church Wedding [Saturday, July 18; Indoors]: Black tie optional. Reception [Saturday, July 18; Indoors & Outdoors]: Black tie optional.

Question

Will there be vegetarian/vegan food options available at each event?

Answer

Yes! There will be vegetarian- & vegan-friendly food options throughout the weekend!

Question

Can I bring a guest? What about young children?

Answer

Due to the capacity limitations of each venue, you may bring a guest or young children only if specified on the invitation you receive.

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

Yes, photos are welcome! That said please keep flash photography to a minimum. Also, we have hired professional photographers and videographers for the event, whose photos and videos will be available after the wedding.
