I prayed and asked the Lord for a wife that had a heart after His. A woman of noble character filled with the Holy Spirit. A woman that understood serving others is the hallmark of a life in Christ. A woman that is willing to follow the lead of her husband. A woman of prayer and fasting that not only knew the word of God (the Bible) but lived it! Many years went by and my search seemed fruitless, it seemed as my soon to be wife once said” I thought God had forgotten me” God reminded me that all I needed was to trust him. Leave my request at his feet and be about his business. The business of loving others. Praying for those that need it. Caring for the homeless, or those that choose to live on the street. Visit the prisons, nursing homes, hospitals and jails. Preach and teach the gospel wherever God provided the opportunity. The work of ministry is all He asked me to do, and leave the search for a spirit filled, prudent and noble woman up to Him. As the lord would have it, one morning while organizing the front area of my workplace, I heard the voice of Rosemary McLean. She asked if I would honor the request of our CEO to assist her in caring for a man that was sick. His catheter bag had burst and he has lying in a bed soiled with his waste. Without hesitation I said, "Yes.” Before entering the hotel room where the man was living I asked if we could pray together and without any reservation she said” let’s pray”. When we entered the room the smell was putrid and made breathing difficult. His bed and body was covered in feces. Urine had soaked through his clothes and mattress. Without missing a beat Rosemary began to move to care for this man. That’s when I began to see the love of God flowing from her. The heart of the father had come alive in her. I could see the spirit of the living God move her with compassion to attend to this man who desperately needed her care. After we cleaned him up... put him in fresh clothes we prayed with him and left the room. Rosemary offered me some hand sanitizer to cover the smell on our hands until we could get to soap and water. When our hands came together I looked into her eyes and I saw the light of the Holy Spirit. In my mind I asked God a question… "Is this the one?” After that Rose and I began walking and talking in the park after work. We spent a lot of time praying, fasting and sharing scripture together. Finally God answered; “ Yes Paul, this is my daughter this is the one I have prepared for you.” Proverbs 18 v 22 says, “ he that finds a wife, finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.” I have found my wife! I have found a good thing in Rosemary. Together we have favor from the Lord! And now here we are on our wedding day! To God be the glory forever more! -PAUL
