Our love story began in a way neither of us could have ever planned — during the height of COVID. At the time, Paul was stationed in California, working for the U.S. Navy and living a very locked-down life. Meanwhile, Nhi was living in Georgia, navigating her own chapter of uncertainty. Through a mutual friend, Pauline, our paths unexpectedly crossed — initially as nothing more than an idea. At first, Paul wasn’t convinced. But after some thought (and curiosity), we decided to talk. What started as conversations quickly became connection. Despite the distance and the unusual circumstances, something real began to grow. Nhi flew to California to visit Paul, and before long, what was supposed to be a practical decision turned into something neither of us expected — love. We were married at the San Diego courthouse, moved in together, and began building a life side by side. Five and a half years later, we’re no longer doing anything “for practicality.” We’re choosing each other every day — for love, partnership, laughter, and a future we’re proud of. This wedding isn’t just a celebration — it’s the real beginning we always knew was coming.
