Paul and Makenzie met in May of 2017 at Tequila Cowboy (yes you heard that right) on the North Shore. Both had gone out for rhe night with friends and Paul noticed Makenzie standing nearby and mentioned to his friend Pat that he thought she was cute. Pat, being the good wingman that he was, approached Makenzie and her friend and asked them if they would take a picture with Paul because he was having a bad night. If you’re thinking “how would anyone fall for that pickup line?” it’s a valid question but it was somehow successful and here we are. Makenzie and her friend Jess took a picture with Paul, which both still have to this day, and started talking. They exchanged numbers and parted ways. Paul asked Makenzie on multiple dates from May to August but Makenzie had planted Paul firmly in the friend zone until one morning when Makenzie was driving to work and her mom insisted she give Paul a chance because she had noticed Paul and Makenzie had become very good friends and were always talking. Mrs. Kunig was inspired by an episode of Joel Osteen where he talked about his sister not wanting to date a guy but finally giving him a chance and they got married and went on to have a family (Of all people, we never thought Joel Osteen would make it into our love story). Makenzie text Paul that day and suggested they go to dinner and after a long drive to Beaver and dinner at Marios Dockside they knew they had something special. 2 houses, 4 jobs and 1 cat later they have decided on forever and could not be happier!
