This is an abbreviated version because truly I could write a novel about us. We met more than 17 years ago. Tony Runfola, my friend of more than 30 years, wanted a group of us to see his brothers band, Kilbrannan. I thought I was going to have the most boring night ever, then I saw Paul. I immediately said to Tony, “Tell me more about your brother”. We became fans of the band and went to every show. Paul and I became friends but I knew in my heart if he would just give me a chance we would be perfect for each other. Unfortunately that did not happen then and we went our separate ways for 15 years. One warm summer day, Stacy Shaver, one of my best friends, asked if we wanted to go see the band Paul was now playing with, Penny Whiskey. I jumped at the chance, even though I just had a procedure on my eye that left me black and blue....my sunglasses never came off...lol...Paul did not recognize me at first, but once he heard my name, everything came back to him. As we left that show, Stacy said you are going to marry Paul. A few shows later I got up the courage to give him my phone number. It took him a few days to get up the courage to call me. After a few weeks of talking to Paul, my son asked when he could meet the man who was making me so happy. At the Olcott Celtic Festival that year, we had our 1st date with several of our friends, but it was perfect. The more we talked about the past, the more we realized we had missed out on so many years together, but that God gave us a second chance to take the path he had chosen for us in the first place. Each and every day has been better because we have each other. Love always finds away!
We went to Thistle Creek Alpaca Farm for a tour as a surprise. I have been in love with Alpacas ever since Paul and I got to pet one at the Erie County Fair. You should ask Paul about that story... Anyway... after the tour the owner let us go into the field with all the Alpacas. Paul took my hands and told me how much he loved me and that he could not imagine a day with out me. He took out the ring and asked me to marry him! I said yes! We turned around and all the alpacas were staring at us and then one by one they came over to us! It was llamazing!
