San Diego Zoo

Balboa Park

Large park with museums like the Natural History Museum, the Museum of Us, Modern Art Museum, Air and Space Museum, Comic Con Museum and more. Also walk through the park’s Japanese Friendship Garden, Zoro Garden aka butterfly garden, and cactus garden.

Old Town San Diego

This neighborhood is a historic state park with preserved buildings and museums like Junipero Serra Museum and The Whaley House Museum (one of only two alleged “certified haunted houses” in California). This area has many options for Mexican food. Also visit Heritage Park, it has six restored Victorian Houses and San Diego’s first synagogue.

Gaslamp Quarter - The Historic Heart Of San Diego

One of the most popular neighborhoods in downtown San Diego. It’s full of bars, restaurants, clubs, historic hotels, speakeasy’s, and Petco Park

Mission Beach Boardwalk

Two miles of ocean front boardwalk with Belmont Park, a boardwalk amusement park.

La Jolla Shores

Popular beach town that’s known for kayaking, snorkeling and California sea lions. Lots of restaurants and high end shops. You can visit Birch Aquarium, hike at Torrey Pine’s State Natural Reserve or visit the tide pools only a short walk down from the pier.

Coronado Island

Beaches, restaurants and the historic Hotel Del Coronado.

Hillcrest

San Diego’s largest LGBTQ+ neighborhood. Local restaurants, bars, clubs, coffee shops, boutiques and farmers market.

Ocean Beach

Hippy beach town. OB has the country’s “original dog beach” and is a well known surfing spot.

Pacific Beach

This is where college kids go to bar hop at night. The beach here is good and you can drink margaritas on the boardwalk.

Sunset Cliffs

Popular spot for a good sunset. During low tide there are sea caves you can walk in.
