In the summer of 2014 between our sophomore and junior years at Ohio State, we both decided to study abroad and embark on a Semester at Sea. With over 400 students from countless universities, we traveled to 10 different countries as we took classes for college credit. Oh, and we lived on a cruise ship! For the first few weeks abroad, our relationship solely consisted of awkward eye contact and passing each other in the hallways. However, on one afternoon in July about a month or so into the program, we decided to work together on a paper for a class we were both in. Once we began talking, we realized that not only did we go to the same university, but we also grew up in neighboring hometowns in Cleveland. What are the chances? We talked for hours at that table, forgetting all about the paper that was due. The day turned into night, and we laid on the floor of the top deck gazing at the clearest sky we've ever seen, continuing to talk and learn about each other. Needless to say, we will always remember this fairytale beginning. Soon after, we had our first date in Sweden. About two weeks after that, Paul asked Leah to be his girlfriend, and we were both coming back to America with a significant other that we couldn't wait for our friends and family to meet. Back in Ohio, we had an absolute blast throughout the rest of our time at The Ohio State University. Since college, we have supported one another wholeheartedly through the many ups and downs life has thrown at us. Whether it be a low key Tuesday date night or skydiving for our first time, we have continued to keep things exciting and memorable. We've loved building our lives together in Columbus, and we look forward to the many years ahead and all of the adventures to come. We can't wait to celebrate with you in April!
