Person of Honor
D. Darnell is a long time partner in crime (ahem, friend) of Kelli’s and a big fan of Paul’s. D is a carpenter, contractor, and the founder of The Dapper Hammer where they love teaching woodworking classes to kids, women, and those not traditionally represented in the trades. D loves Jeeps, vintage motorcycles, campfires with friends, parenting three kids ages 7-17, and being Kim Shaw’s fiancé.
Dave Humbarger
Best Man
Dave Humbarger has known Paul for his entire life. In fact, their first meeting must have been within a week or two of Dave’s birth. The ties between our families goes back still another generation. He spent most of his formative years swimming, playing games, and whatever else rambunctious children do with each other. Dave earned a Master’s Degree in Biostatistics, but after deliberating with his wife, Shelley, decided it was best for the young family for him to stay home and care for the two boys who are now eight and four. While enriching himself by playing chess and learning the Russian language, he likes to use his degree to obtain an upper-hand in fantasy sports and to peruse medical journals for the latest medical advancements.
Adam Aviles
Groomsman
Adam Aviles is Kelli's brother. He's engaged to Angela D'Iorio, and they migrate back and forth between Washington, DC, and Bowie, MD together, sharing custody of a young cat, an elderly Jack Russell Terrier, and a middle-aged Coast Guard retiree. Adam is currently a graduate student at George Washington University, where he studies the history of Central Asia, South Asia, Afghanistan, and Iran.
Anna Brenner
Bridesmaid
Anna Brenner is Kelli’s cousin, but she considers herself more of a sister. She and her partner, Clarissa, share a silly 10 month old British Field Labrador named Nellie Ruth (the Ruth after RBG). Anna just graduated with her masters in Behavioral Science. She currently works with high intensity problem behaviors of individuals affected by intellectual and developmental disabilities. Anna wishes the absolute best for Kelli, Paul, Emma, and Adam. This is the happiest she has ever seen Kelli and is so excited to be a part of the adventure!
