Question

Why do we have to walk to the ceremony site?

Answer

Simply put, we think it is the best view in Sleeping Bear Dunes. Once you've made it to our spot, we think you will feel the same! There is a short walk to the site. Most of the walk is on a boardwalk, followed by about 100 feet in the sand. Please bring walking shoes to wear on the journey. There is a bench at the top where you can change your shoes.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes! Semi-formal and we ask that you please dress in muted green tones (olive, forest, etc.).

Question

When do I need to make a meal choice?

Answer

As soon as possible please! Choices need to be given to the winery 30 days in advance.

Question

Can we take lots of pictures?

Answer

We have hired a photographer and videographer to capture our big day! We want everyone to be present and most importantly we want our photographer and videographer to be able to capture all of our guests as well. So we politely ask that you keep your phone put away for the ceremony. We promise to share photos when we get them back!

Question

Do we need anything to enter Sleeping Bear Dunes?

Answer

You will need a Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore Pass. They can be purchased at any ranger station in the park or even at the entrance of the ceremony site. The fee is $25 per car and is valid for 7 days. If you decide to purchase the day of the wedding, please arrive with enough time to purchase one.

Question

What if the weather is bad?

Answer

Well we really hope that doesn't happen, but we understand that Michigan weather can be completely unpredictable. If the weather is bad for a short amount of time we will move the timing around on September 30th. We will give as much notice beforehand as possible if a schedule change is needed. If the weather is severe enough we will change the wedding date to October 1st.
