This is where it all began for us! There are guided tours from the Visitor's Center or you can just explore on your own. The general public may walk in through the Visitors Access Center at Gate 1 during general visiting hours (Fri & Sat 0500-0200; Sunday: 0500-2359; Mon-Th 0500-2200). All visitors 18 years of age or older must have a valid picture ID (i.e.: State issued driver's license, student I.D., or a government issued passport). Visitors under the age of 18, who do not have a valid picture ID must be escorted by an adult with a valid form of identification. We recommend you start at the Visitor's Center (52 King George St) if you've never been! Link for more visitor information (including guided tours): https://www.usna.edu/Visit/index.php
There are more places than we can list here but Main Street is full of good food, drinks, shopping, and some history! It is a great area to walk around, explore, and even walk along the water.
There's so many places we love and for the most part, you can't wrong in downtown Annapolis! Boatyard Bar & Grill (seafood), Galway Bay (Irish Pub), Iron Rooster (breakfast/brunch), Fox's Den (pizza), and Chick & Ruth's Deli (diner breakfast/lunch), Lemongrass (Thai), and Ram's Head Tavern (American).
