Do we have reserved blocks of rooms at a hotel

Answer

No, we didn't have enough out of town guests to reserve a large block of rooms at a major hotel and many of the out of town guests did NOT want to stay in hotels, quite a few wanted shared air b and b options etc. , sorry if we inconvenienced anyone. Thank you for understanding.

Will this be an outdoor event

Answer

Yes, it is summer in Detroit MI , usually the weather is hot and humid, please dress and plan accordingly . We will have a large shady space to use if the weather is not stormy and a large full enclosed tent for rainy weather, but we have NO air conditioning planned and it is not available at the Hayne's residence indoors at this time. We will have indoor bathroom access and 2 port a potties.

Is there a Pie Potluck

Answer

Yes, we will order 5-6 pies from "Sister Pie" in Detroit that should cover most everyone, but we will absolutely want and plan on making more pies. If you are traveling a long ways or don't want to make a pie there is not an expectation that you will need to bring one. You can email or test us if you are bringing a pie , and we will try to ensure others are not bringing much of the same thing. Who is catering?

Answer

Guerrilla Food http://www.guerrillafooddetroit.com/ will be providing the main courses in a buffet style. There will definitely be lots of vegetarian and GF friendly options but the menu isn't totally final yet, please let us know of any food restrictions you need us to know about and we can attempt to see if it is possible to accommodate them.

Any events other than the main wedding the afternoon/evening of the wedding?

Yes, we will have brunch the morning after the wedding , we are still firming up the location of this brunch but plan to start at 10:30 AM Aug 1st and we will add a location as soon as it is known to the website, we should announce it at the wedding as well. We also have a rehearsal for those in the wedding party the afternoon of 7/30 the day before the wedding and details should be updated on the website as well.

Will this be a child friendly event?

Yes, kids are invited and welcome. We love all ages at our wedding, remember it is outdoors so plan accordingly.

What should I wear?

Answer

Please have fun with summer outdoor wedding attire. Please DO NOT wear anything that will make you too hot on a Detroit summer afternoon/evening. We want you all to have fun, look great , but above all stay cool and healthy in the summer outdoor weather. No one in the wedding party is wearing a full suit.

Who can I bring

Answer

We tried to think of everyone that our invited guests would want to bring, but if we accidentally missed someone then let us know. We would love to accommodate everyone, but please text us/call or email if your significant other of family wasn't "officially" invited as we need to plan to ensure we have seating/space/food etc to accommodate any extra people.

Is there parking?

Answer

Street parking in a residential neighborhood is all that will be available so please carpool as much as possible. Please make sure to leave lots of space around driveways and neighbors' vehicles.
