Who should I contact with questions?
Answer

Is there a hotel block?
Answer
We do not have a hotel block as the wedding weekend falls on the same weekend as a Baylor home game. We recommend staying at an AirBnb or a VRBO, but there are also plenty of hotels in Waco to choose from.

Is the wedding in Austin?
Answer
No, but Austin-Bergstrom International (ATX) is the nearest major airport. The wedding and ceremony are being held at the Gathering Oaks Retreat Center in Crawford, Texas. Crawford is a very small town just outside of Waco, TX.

I got an invite but I haven’t seen you in a long time, like years.

Yup. We miss you. ❤️ This is our attempt to reconnect. We hope you can make it!

But aren’t you married already?
Answer
Yes! We had a private elopement at the end of February 2020 with the expectation of a wedding reception in May 2020. The reception was postponed due to the lockdowns. On the bright side, the belated event means you get to meet our little daughter!

Are kids welcome?

YES! Your kids are invited and honored guests!🤱🏼🤱🏽👧🏻👧🏽👶🏾👶🏼👶🏻 We even have an on-site playground!

What should I wear?
Answer
Cocktail attire or garden party formal. The ceremony and reception are outside in a shaded area and the weather is expected to be between 50 and 70 degrees.

What is “garden party formal”?
Answer
It goes without saying that if you are not a dress person or a suit person, we’d rather you here and comfortable than trying to fit into a code. But if you have fun with dressing up like I do, here’s some inspiration: “For garden party formal, you’re still going to wear a classy, knee-length or longer cocktail dress, but opt for a dress that is lighter in color (maybe blush pink or pale yellow) rather than a harsh black dress. Or wear a long, satin dress with a floral print. Your comfort matters, classy and flowing dresses fit right in. Garden wedding attire for male guests may include pastel suit accessories, like a pastel bow tie or pocket square. Incorporating intentional color via a button-up is also suitable. And if you want to go all-in, garden weddings are the perfect setting for suits in colors other than black—think tan, navy, or cerulean blue.”

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?
Answer
Yes! We will have Texas brisket, turkey, veggies, salad, bread, and potatoes au gratin. We know some of our guests are vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, etc so please do let us know on the online RSVP so that we can accommodate your needs!

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?
Answer
Yes, we have lots of free, on site parking.

I am flying in early, can I come to the rehearsal dinner?
Answer

What if I can’t come to all the weekend activities?
Answer
We totally get it! Everything except the ceremony and reception are just bonus opportunities to spend time together. We are just so glad you’re coming!
