Our Story

First comes flight school, then comes marriage!

Ceara and Paul’s story began in Pensacola, Florida, at none other than Seville Quarter, a popular bar and music venue in the heart of downtown Pensacola. They started hanging out as part of a larger friend group, with Ceara’s and Paul’s friends blending. A few months in, Paul let Ceara’s roommate, Allie, know that he was interested in Ceara, and that was the start of “Paul and Ceara”! The early days of their relationship were filled with long sunny beach days, cheering on the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, and sharing drinks at their favorite dive bar, Wisteria. About a year and half later, Paul received orders to San Diego, while Ceara stayed back in Pensacola for another year. That year was filled with long-distance love (lots of visits), FaceTime dates, and many plans for Ceara’s move to California once Paul had official orders. A year later, she finally made the big move to San Diego to be with Paul. 27 hours of driving (mostly done by Paul), two Texas stops, and one speeding ticket later (also Paul), Ceara was officially a San Diegan! Then came Summer 2024, when Paul planned what Ceara thought was just a “lighthouse tour” up the California coast. They packed up the car, bringing along their newly adopted golden retriever, Hattie, and headed to San Francisco. They continued their lighthouse adventure, heading south to Monterey, California. On July 19, 2024, they visited the Point Pinos Lighthouse, only to find it closed at sunset. Thinking quickly, Paul suggested they check out the nearby beach located within the Asilomar State Marine Reserve and insisted on taking a picture, nothing suspicious at all, right? As luck would have it, a kind woman and her husband offered to snap their photo. With the sun setting and otters bobbing in the waves behind them, and Hattie by their side, Paul got down on one knee and asked Ceara to marry him. Of course, she said yes!
