Semi-Formal Attire. Our venue prefers that you do not wear your stilettos as it can ruin their beautiful wood floors.
Wedding receptions in New Orleans are typically not formal, seated dinners, but consist of passed & buffet items served throughout the reception. This is to promote a highly dynamic and social atmosphere that allows guests to move freely about the reception space. Seating is left open for guests to choose their own seats and tables.
A second line is a lively, celebratory parade often seen in New Orleans weddings. After the reception, guests will join in procession, following the newlyweds, for dancing and celebrating down the streets of New Orleans. This celebration will be led by a brass band to an agreed upon after party location.
The Cabildo is an elegant Spanish colonial building that neighbors St. Louis Cathedral in the heart of New Orleans' historic French Quarter. As the site of the Louisiana Purchase transfer ceremonies in 1803, the museum now exhibits the history of Louisiana while also showcasing a new exhibit "Rodrigue: Before the Blue Dog" presenting the paintings of George Rodrigue. All 3 floors of the museum will be open for viewing during the wedding, please enjoy!
