FAQs

Question

Deadline to RSVP.

Answer

July 15th

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

You are welcome to bring whoever you would like to Brazil, but only those who were sent a formal invitation may come to the wedding ceremony and wedding dinner. If you've received a plus one, they'll be specifically addressed within the invitation.

Question

Are children welcome at the wedding?

Answer

As much as we love your little ones, our wedding is exclusively for adults.

Question

Will transportation be provided to the wedding venue?

Answer

Yes, we will have arranged transportation from one designated departure point which will be communicated to guests who have confirmed/RSVP'd.

Question

What should I wear to the wedding?

Answer

Our ceremony will take place in a wooded area, at a high altitude and it gets chilly/cold at night. We have created a Pinterest board for inspiration: https://www.pinterest.com/allexetpaul/what-to-wear-to-the-costas-wedding/ Ladies are invited to wear floor-length gowns or longer dresses in bold, jewel colors. Men are invited to wear a classic suit, opt for dark, rich colors. A classic dress shirt with a tie or bow-tie in a complementary color. Please AVOID white. :)

Question

Will there be other opportunities to celebrate?

Answer

Yes. Instead of a traditional reception post-wedding, we want to include our loved ones in a family friendly pre-departure celebration! As we are having a destination wedding, we understand not everyone will be able to attend. Light refreshments will be served; this will be an alcohol-free event. Saturday, August 22, 2026 Join us for a night of fun and well wishes!

Question

What type of plug or charger will I need in Brazil?

Answer

Brazil operates on a 127/220V supply voltage. When we traveled to Brazil to meet our wedding planner and sign with our venue, we used these adapters for our phones: https://amzn.to/4tB1TFm (smaller electronics, phone, & computer) https://amzn.to/40cLDwM (phone or smaller electronics)

Question

Is Brazil safe?

Answer

Yes but please practice situational awareness and avoid drawing attention to yourselves.

Question

What language is spoken in Brazil?

Answer

Portuguese is the spoken language in Brazil. Our wedding planner and her team are comfortable attending to wedding guests in both Portuguese and English.

Question

I've never been to a gay wedding before, are they different?

Answer

We've never been to any either, so don't worry! The only difference you can expect is that everyone in attendance at our wedding is full of radical love and support for our marriage and any other same-sex couple's love.

Question

What if I have another question?

Answer

Please check out the "Meet Miri" section of our website to get in contact with our wedding planner, who is bilingual and is ready to assist any concerns our wedding guests may have!
