Paula first met Joseph Dohn in the Spring 2013 semester at Iowa State University. Joe sat in Paula’s seat in their English class, and while she wanted to politely tell Joe to get out of her seat, they instead had a great conversation and became friends. Joe then introduced Paula to Jordan Krohn in April 2013 on a Thursday, and the three head out to the streets of Ames, Iowa for mug night. Though Paula had a little too much fun and lost the guys by the end of the night, this was the first of many nights out for Paula and Jordan. During their last year of college, they enjoyed many fun nights together with Jordan’s fraternity brothers and graduated onto bigger and better things! Jordan moved to Minneapolis in June 2014, and Paula moved in January 2016. Within the first few weeks of living downtown, Paula was perusing her Facebook page and noticed Jordan also lived in Minneapolis. Being new to the city and having no friends, she reached out to Jordan to go to Happy Hour, and we all know Happy Hour are two of Jordan’s favorite words. The two began hanging out with each other and their friendship grew. They would spend many weekends riding bikes to breweries together, meeting up on Sundays to watch the newest Game of Thrones episodes, round up the friends to watch Iowa State football, hangout and play games. After Rosey, Paula’s sister, told Jordan ‘he should date her sister’ and Paula receiving feedback from her friends to date Jordan, she invited him to join her at the yearly Minnesota Brewer’s Guild in 2019. 2020 was kicked off with more dates for the two, including a road trip to Rockford, IL for a wedding, before the beginning of the pandemic. They stayed in the same small friend bubble as the pandemic became more and more serious, which included plenty of park beers and bike rides. It wasn’t until June 15, 2020, when they were at Jordan’s house rewatching season one of Game of Thrones, when Jordan asked Paula to be his girlfriend. In May of 2021, they began talking about getting a house in the suburbs together. They were both pleasantly surprised to love the second house they saw, and closed on their beautiful home in Maple Grove on July 20, 2021. The first year of home ownership was filled with lots of learning, fun projects, minor arguments, lessons on how to use to the grill, and love. On the year anniversary of closing on their home, July 20, 2022, Jordan asked Paula to marry him!
