Jay and Patty crossed paths at a time when love was the last thing on their minds. He was moving to the beat of his own rhythm, and she was dancing through life on her own terms. But fate, as it often does, had other plans. By chance, Jay was out celebrating the completion of his field training program with friends, while Patty was simply enjoying a girls' night out. They both found themselves at the Bungalow in Huntington Beach—just another night, or so they thought. Patty was strolling with her girls when she “purposefully” bumped into him, almost causing him to drop his drink. Patty likes to say it was purposeful because, well, she knew it would make Jay smile. Jay, a little flustered, followed Patty just to call her out for nearly ruining his beer. But neither of them could have known that this accidental bump would be the start of something life-changing. ​​As soon as their eyes met, something shifted. What began as a playful encounter quickly turned into something neither of them expected. Jay was instantly smitten—though if you ask him, he’ll tell you he was especially enamored with her... well, let’s just say, he noticed her from head to toe. They spent the rest of the night talking, laughing, and discovering a connection that felt effortless. Before they parted ways, Jay made Patty pinky-promise she’d reply if he ever texted her. She kept that promise. It wasn’t long before Jay asked Patty out on a date. And, of course, how could she reject him when she’d already promised ? Jay went all out—planning the most romantic sunset picnic date at the breathtaking Crystal Cove Beach. He brought everything: a blanket, electronic candles, flowers, and pizza (because who doesn’t love pizza, right?). From that moment on, their story truly began. Over time, their bond only deepened. From spontaneous adventures to quiet nights in, from sharing dreams —they grew together, side by side.On a memorable trip to Los Cabos, Mexico, their relationship became official. On September 30th, 2022, after months of laughter, love, and late-night texts, Jay and Patty became boyfriend and girlfriend. In the time that followed, they took big steps together: They bought a home, welcomed their two fur babies—Chewie and Leia (yes, they’re Star Wars nerds!)—and making countless memories. Then came February 1, 2025—a full-circle moment. Jay proposed at the very spot where they had their first date, surrounded by the ocean, love, and the support of their closest friends and family … she said yes. Now, here they are happily engaged and beyond excited to celebrate this next chapter of their love story with you.
