It all started on an August night in 2019. My best friend, Cassie, my sister Rachel, and I were getting ready for a night out in downtown San Diego. Before heading out, we stopped by Cassie’s older brother Mick’s apartment to meet up with him and his friends and that’s when Johnny walked in. The second our eyes met, it felt special. There was something about him that instantly caught my attention, and I couldn’t help but feel this bubbling excitement about the night ahead. We all went out to Kettner Exchange and Nolita Hall, and Johnny and I spent the night laughing, talking, and feeling that unmistakable spark. By the end of the night, we exchanged numbers, and I couldn’t stop smiling the whole way home. A few days later, Johnny asked me out on our first real date. We had originally planned to go to the movies, but we ended up talking so much and discovering our competitive sides—that we knew we had to take it to the next level: bowling. Between the playful rivalry, nonstop laughter, and that same spark from our first meeting, I knew this was the start of something truly special. Fast forward to October 2024, and Johnny asked me to marry him at our favorite lookout spot on H Street in Encinitas. Just the two of us, that same spark we felt from the very beginning, and the excitement of our next chapter made it the perfect moment. Our spark remains just as strong today, and we can’t wait to celebrate our love surrounded by all our favorite people.
