Another bar to visit before the cocktail hour begins! The Bulldog is right across the street from the reception, so you can park your car and walk over to cocktail hour when you're ready.
Nina's is one of the best coffee shops in the Twin Cities! When living in St. Paul, Joe visited Nina's so frequently that the baristas knew him by name. He told Patty he was a "Nina's celebrity."
Our second official date spot! Sweeney's is a fun bar with plenty of drinks and appetizers! They also have a great outdoor patio in the back.
A fun bar on Summit Hill with an awesome beer selection and great outdoor seating!
Our favorite ice cream shop to grab a cone during the summer and enjoy it while walking up and down Summit Avenue! FYI: Joe doesn't think people go to ice cream shops before wedding receptions. Please be sure to go, and tell Joe all about it during the night!
Take some time to shop and eat on Grand Avenue's famous tree-lined, 26-block shopping district. More than just a shopping destination, Grand is also home to many of Saint Paul's top foodie spots. Patty and Joe's first date was a summer evening walk down and back on Summit Avenue. Despite the 8 mile distance, the time flew by! On Summit Avenue, you'll find a five-mile boulevard of breathtaking Victorian homes—the longest stretch of its kind in the entire country. Here, you can take a gander at the former homes of writer F. Scott Fitzgerald, railroad tycoon James J. Hill, and Nobel laureate Frank B. Kellogg.
Rice Park is a beloved public space at the heart of downtown Saint Paul. Rice Park is home to many festivals, concerts, and events throughout the year. The park features a beautiful fountain and other public art installations. Rice Park is surrounded by significant cultural and historical buildings including the Saint Paul Hotel, Landmark Center, Ordway and the Downtown Central Library.
There are great places to walk along the Mississippi River before the reception! Enjoy gorgeous views of Harriet Island behind the Science Museum from Upper Landing Park. Continue down the Samuel H. Morgan Regional Trail to Lower Landing where you can access an extensive network of biking and hiking trails.
