Two of our favorite parts to take out-of-town guests in Louisville’s vibrant downtown are Nulu and Whiskey Row. When deciding where to stay, here’s a brief snapshot of each area.
NuLu (New Louisville)
A vibrant, pedestrian-friendly urban neighborhood located just east of downtown Louisville. Known for its eclectic mix of historic 19th-century architecture and modern creative culture, it has been named one of the top food neighborhoods in the U.S. and one of the country's best art districts.
Whiskey Row
A historic one-block stretch of Louisville’s Main Street that served as the global trading hub for the bourbon industry from the 1850s until Prohibition. Today, it is the center of Louisville’s "bourbon renaissance," featuring restored 19th-century buildings with iconic cast-iron storefronts that now house world-class distilleries, bars, and upscale hotels.
