We are so excited to celebrate with you!

We can't wait to be married. We are so excited about becoming Patti & Jason Almirez-Taglianetti. The only downside of getting married right now is not being able to celebrate with you in person. We both envision a time, hopefully in the near future, when we can all gather together safely to share fabulous music, great food, fun stories, and the joy of each other's presence. Until then, we will celebrate virtually on Zoom and make the most of this incredible format that allows us to gather safely and conveniently from all corners of the planet!

Patti has been a life-long public radio listener. When she moved to Hawaii in 2004, one of the first things she did was to tune into Hawaii Public Radio and she instantly became an HPR fan and supporter. In 2013, she noticed a new program had come on the air, "Applause in a Small Room." The host was warm, witty, and passionate about the music he presented. He had a very kind voice and the best name ever. She also noticed that this host had very excellent taste in music as he happened to be airing the same group of musicians she had been booking for a concert series she was working on. About a year later, she was invited to an HPR event and met Jason, the host from the show that caught her attention. They had a nice conversation about local musicians. Through the years, when they bumped into each other, they always had friendly interactions. During the fall of 2017, they seemed to be bumping into each other more and more. One evening, Patti saw Jason at Barnes & Noble and decided to ask him out. They had dinner at Agu Ramen and had a really nice time. After the date, they talked for several weeks and then Jason disappeared. Yes, Jason ghosted Patti. We'll save that story for the Zoom Celebration! Patti and Jason reconnected in the summer of 2018 at an HPR event and have been together ever since.

As we all know, this past year has been full of challenges and uncertainty. We are thankful that it has only made our relationship stronger and our commitment to our own and each other's health, happiness, growth, and success even deeper. Jason proposed on a Sunday afternoon while we were lying around talking about the future. It just seemed right. We decided to reclaim 2020 and to end it on a bright, hopeful note by getting married on December 31.
