We took our time. Almost 13 years. But for us it was perfect timing. We met at church the Sunday before Thanksgiving 2008 and had our first date the Saturday after Christmas. For our second date, it was up to Greg to pick the restaurant and we both knew this was something special when Greg asked "how about Indian?" Patti taught Greg how to appreciate college basketball, and Greg taught Patti that there are other conferences than the SEC. Now, a perfect day for us is any Saturday during football season, or any NCAA Tournament weekend. Together we've learned that we love the lake and the beach, somewhat equally. But more than anything we love being with each other and spending time with our amazing friends and families.

Our engagement didn't come as a surprise, to us. We had been talking marriage for a while and with a group trip to the beach just around the corner, it was pretty obvious that was when it would happen. Few people on the trip knew what Greg was up to, but Greg couldn't contain his excitement and told just about everyone that tonight was the night. Greg proposed to Patti on burger night.
