Aaron and I met the old fashion way...online! A few months before we met, I decided to give online dating a try again (Hey Bumble!) and told myself that I would actually give it a real shot this time. A few months in (and swipes), I came across Aaron's profile and thought he was hot, so I swiped right. We were a match and began chatting (to this day, neither one of us remembers a lot of these beginning conversations ha!) and decided to meet for a date on a Saturday in the beginning of September. I remember being really excited about our date and because of that, I may have overindulged myself the night before at a friend's birthday party (opps!). I decided to text him the day of our date and see if we could reschedule. I suggested that we go watch opening day of The NFL at Max's on Sunday instead of our original plans Thankfully the Eagles had already played on Thursday (sometimes things are just meant to be!), so he agreed and we spent that Sunday watching football and drinking beer and not a day has gone by since that we have not talked and the rest is history!
Well, let's just say our engagement story is totally us in a nutshell. Originally, my parents and Aaron’s mom were supposed to meet in March, Aaron was going to ask my parents permission and then well COVID! So, as the rest of the world, things changed, we quarantined together, and we came upon June (Aaron eventually called my parents, a drop call, and lots of tears!). Aaron originally was going to propose on the couch (first try) as that is always “our time” together. I, however, mentioned how I would like to actually be dressed with makeup ha! So, second try, was to propose af Diamondbacks (one of our places) on a Thursday with the help of his old roommate Joey. Well, it had been a day and about an hour before we were supposed to leave, I told him he should go and hang out with Joey and I just needed some me time. Knowing that he couldn't change my mind, he went and spent the next two hours coming up with a third try! The next day, Friday June 26, we went to his nephew’s birthday party and then he made reservations at Clyde’s, a Columbia legend that unfortunately was closing due to Covid. Aaron said how he has such great memories there as a kid by the lake and wanted to take me there at least one time. After a dinner where Aaron kept constantly going to the bathroom and only drinking one beer (so odd ha!), he proposed outside by a bench after he gave me a card (my fav) and of course I said are you serious ha! But I said yes with a lot of tears and cannot wait to marry Aaron;)
