We're so excited to celebrate our big day with you

Our story is one of modern love as we met through an online dating app. Both of us were in transition periods and had busy schedules; Juan had recently moved to Miami for work and Patry was working full-time and finishing her degree. We were both very inquisitive and found ourselves talking for hours at a time; Juan was interested in Patry’s life in Cuba and how she became an accountant, and Patry wanted to learn more about his career and life. We also talked about family, travel plans, and about silly things like the cartoons we watched when we were kids. We quickly learned that we had a lot in common, and were both passionate people with strong family values. On our first date, we went to a Peruvian restaurant for dinner. Though we were both a little nervous, we soon loosened up after trying a few Pisco Sours. We instantly connected and felt like we had known each other for a long time. After our date, we wanted to spend all of our time together and enjoyed spending time with our families and friends, traveling, and going on walks with Brody, our chocolate Lab. We quickly fell in love! Through our relationship, we have accomplished several milestones together. After Patry graduated from college, she completed her Master's and became a CPA. Somewhere in the middle, we moved in together, which has strengthened our relationship, and gotten us ready for the next big step.

As we had been indoors throughout much of the year due to COVID-19, we planned a road trip for early September 2020 to get out of town. We planned to visit Savannah, Asheville, and Charleston. On our last night in Savannah, we were rushing to make it to our dinner reservation and Juan asked to stop by the fountain at Lafayette Square to take a picture. We quickly stopped, but instead of posing, he got on one knee and popped the question! Little did Patry know, a photographer was hiding in plain sight to capture the moment followed by a carriage ride around downtown Savannah. The planned dinner turned into the most special celebration!
