Tara and Sam's story began freshman year at Becker College in the laundry room - where a simple conversation over detergent and washing machines turned into something neither of them expected. Tara offered to help Sam figure out how to work the machines, and what started as a small act of kindness quickly grew into an easy friendship. That spring, with a little encouragement from friends and roommates, Sam finally made his move. Tara was clear she didn't want anything serious...but Sam had other plans. After some patient wooing and plenty of laughs, she came around, and on April 29th, 2014, they made it official. Over the years, they grew up together, built a life side by side, and welcomed their first dog, June Bug - a rescue who instantly became their whole world. Naturally when Sam decided to propose, June had to be part of the plan. On August 22nd, 2024, in Nags Head, North Carolina, Tara thought they were heading to a professional family photo shoot on the beach during Sam's family vacation. She was sent down to the beach early to help "set up" while Sam arrived later - with June Bug, a ring box on her collar, and a heartfelt speech. After she said yes, Sam revealed one final surprise : Tara turned around to see her entire family - who had secretly traveled from Connecticut to be there - along with their family dogs. Nearly a year of planning led to the most perfect, special moment. From a college laundry room to the beaches of the Outer Banks, Tara and Sam are so excited to begin their next chapter and celebrate with the people they love most.
