This should be an easy sell. Outdoor seating. Roof top. Belgian-style beer. (Our personal favorite is their High Speed Wit.) Oh, and get the tater tots. You'll thank us later. Distance from venue: 0.5 miles (near hotel)
Purple Door Ice Cream
We love Purple Door. Delicious ice cream from owners that are committed to social and environmental responsibility. Purple Door contributes 10 cents from every pint purchased to Milk for Milwaukee, a program they developed to provide homeless shelters with fresh milk. You should go there. Did we mention it's kitty-corner from our venue? Distance from venue: 0.1 miles
City Lights Brewing Co.
One of Milwaukee's newer breweries. Really cool venue with a beer garden. If you have time, we recommend stopping in for one, or two, or... Distance from venue: 2.3 miles
Colectivo Coffee - Lakefront Cafe
If you're in need of a caffeine kick, stop at one of the thirteen Collectivos found about the city. While each coffee house is unique to its neighborhood, it's hard to top the Lakefront location. Built in 1888, the historic Milwaukee River Flushing Station is home to the Lakefront cafe, which serves breakfast, lunch, freshly brewed coffee, espresso, tea, and bakery items made daily from scratch. Northpoint Custard: Bradford Beach
Sorry Culver's, but we think Northpoint has the best butter burgers in the state. Not to mention, you get to dine on the beaches of Lake Michigan. If you're looking for a place to a grab quick bite, we highly recommend it. Distance from venue: 5.6 miles
The Waxwing
The Waxwing is seriously wonderful. It features local art and handmade gifts that, whenever possible, are made out of refurbished or recycled materials. It's our very favorite place to shop. Distance from venue: 3.1 miles
Lake Effect Surf Shop
If you make your way up to Shorewood, do yourself a favor and stop at Lake Effect Surf Shop. Owned and operated by fellow Sun Prairie grads, we promise you will find the coolest Milwaukee merch in their shop. Distance from venue: 6.1 miles
Lakefront Brewery
Yes, another brewery... but, it's our favorite one. In fact, we'll be serving Lakefront brews at the reception! We highly recommend Riverwest Stein, Belgian White, El Wisco, and really anything else brewed there. If you are staying for the weekend or have some extra time, it's a must-do.
