No, we are not reserving any hotel room blocks to allow our guests to choose the accommodations that work best for their stay. Plan to coordinate with your group early if you want to stay at a certain hotel together as things book up quickly. There are several nearby hotel options on the Hotels page at all price points.
There are 3-4 floors within our event venue. There is a chair lift to take guests with walking or standing impairments from the entrance to the area where the ceremony and dinner will be held, but the cocktail hour and reception floor will require stairs. There are bathrooms on every floor of the venue. Reach out to Tasia and Patrick if you have any specific concerns.
We are going to continue the be the same Patrick Hickey and Tasia Dedenbach you have always known, just married now.
1. Don't be afraid of taking the subway. NYC doesn't have metro cards anymore, and you can use the mobile wallet on your phone to tap in with ease. The Google or Apple Maps apps will automatically include a transit option to show you what trains to take when you are in the city. It is economical and faster than taking a car in most instances, and many subway lines are very close to hotels and our venue. 2. Plan to make reservations for any sit-down meals for groups of 2 or more at least a few days in advance. It can be hard to walk in and get a table at most places, especially on the weekends. Reach out to Tasia and Patrick if you need any restaurant recommendations. 3. Be mindful of your space and personal items in public places. Keep your eyes open and be aware of your surroundings. Move over to the side of the sidewalk if you don't know where you're going or ask someone for directions. Most New Yorkers are more than happy to help you, but they may be blunt. 4. Prepare for a pedestrian lifestyle lot of with a lot standing, walking, and stairs. Wear comfortable, supportive shoes and clothes, knowing you can easily walk 10-20k steps a day here. Always use a bathroom before you leave a restaurant or museum as public bathrooms are few and far between. @got2gonyc on Instagram has a map of all public bathrooms if you are in a pinch.
