To celebrate the anniversary of the day they met, Patrick booked a gorgeous cabin in the Vermont countryside. Surrounded by lush green fields and open air, the grounds of their little cottage was a testament to nature complete with panoramic views of the green mountains -- to be enjoyed in the arms of two cozy adirondack chairs stationed in the backyard. After a memorable day exploring Vermont, including a ferry ride to Essex, NY and an incredible dinner at the Sherborne farms mansion, Patrick and I returned to the cabin to enjoy some celebratory champagne and enjoy the view from their adirondack chairs. By this time in the evening it had begun to rain lightly but steadily. Patrick was undeterred -- besides, he knew how much I love the rain. He rigged up a beach umbrella we found at the cabin and surprised me by bringing out his guitar. He sang me the song he'd written as a proposal. On bended knee he offered a simple ring box, carrying rings handed down to him through generations of his family. ☔️ "And every song we sing will be your favorite one, And every future dance will be like this first one, And every new beginning will get framed upon our wall, All you've got to do is say two words when I finish up your song.. ~ "So kiss me on the lips, And tell me everything's gonna be alright, alright I want forever to feel just like it does tonite, Come on baby, don't you want to give us a try? Only got one question: don't you want to give me a try? Just say yes..."
