We’re getting MARRIED today!

Patrick had been planning a surprise proposal for months. The week of, Patrick lied to Martia about breaking his phone and that he could only send texts. During this time, she was furious because they usually video chat every night. Thankfully, she had plans for a girls night for the weekend, so she was distracted from him. When the girls reached the restaurant, they were greeted by a mutual friend who was casually shooting content for his portfolio. He asked them to briefly be a part of his video, but as they were walking Martia notices her mom with a single rose. Then her aunt from Delaware came from around the corner with a rose. Next her sisters from Philadelphia gave her a hug with tears in their eyes and gave her roses. At this point, Martia is crying her eyes out overwhelmed with emotion. It was like the Final Rose episode of the Bachelor. She continues to receive roses from her friends and family, some she had not seen in almost 10 years, some from across seas via FaceTime, and one only 8 months old! Her knees were buckling, and she could barely breathe but she looked up and saw her forever waiting patiently for her. Martia’s grandmother and best friend joyfully yet tearfully gave her a rose and told her “Go get your man!” Patrick and Martia both looked into each other’s eyes and ugly cried. The whole audience lost it. It was one of the happiest moments of their lifetime. She screamed “Yes!”

The two briefly met through mutual friends during the summer 2021. Martia often travelled to Atlanta for her work and to visit her best friend, which resulted in the two crossing paths frequently but neither of them knew each other’s name. After months of seeing her in different places, Patrick slide in her DMs, lol, often just commenting on her pictures of food . The two began to talk frequently exchanging ideas on real estate, music, mutual foodie obessions , whatever came to mind. They slowly became best friends and did many things together despite their long distance: cooking via Zoom, watching the same shows at the same time, Waffle House and Chinese food runs, music games, and sharing spiritual gems. In the late summer of 2022, Patrick surprised Martia and her grandmother at a hotel five hours away from him. He couldn’t let another day go by without letting her know how he truly felt about her and wishes to take it to the next step to make it official. She was so surprised and grateful! Clearly, she felt the same way and now the rest is history on 2/4/24!
