Her Side: We first met the good old-fashioned way, out in the wild and in church! I saw this tall, handsome guy with beautiful hair out of my periphery, and so naturally, of course, I had to open up the circle to include him! We started dating about a month later at a speed dating event. We joked that we went on a mini date, or “our 0.5 date,” since he asked me 5 rapid-fire first date questions. I loved his boldness and quickly started falling for Patrick. Over the months I fell in love with his character, his strength, courage, dashing good looks, and sense of humor (I am the slightly funnier one, though). And I cannot wait to marry Patrick and love one another to extravagance for the rest of our days. His Side: The first time I met Mimi was at a young adults talk given at our church about tithing. I remember being on the fence about going that night but decided to make the trip, and I am so glad I did. I remember seeing Mimi there and her circle of friends opening up, and I could tell immediately that she was something special. The chemistry and ease of conversation were so palpable, and I was so eager to see and talk to her again. The next time I saw her was at a Catholic speed dating event, and I knew I wasn't going to let her slip me by. She carries herself with such grace, strength, and elegance. I was head over heels, and I didn't even have her number yet! Since then I've grown ever deeper in love with Mimi's maturity, strength, kindness, gentleness, and overflowing love for those around her she cares for. I prayed for a woman who would bring me closer to God and make me a better man, and I am so blessed to have had my prayers answered when God brought Mimi into my life.
