The place where it all started... A great neighborhood cocktail bar where Marie and I had our first date! -Patrick
My Alma Mater ... definitely recommend a museum day if time allows! My favorites are the Textile wing (surprised?) and spending some time in the sculpture gardens just outside the museum (Michigan/Monroe). It is a highlight of downtown Chicago, and especially convenient if you're staying in one of our hotel blocks. - Marie
Delicious soup dumplings. You can grab some lunch here and then explore Chicago's Chinatown! If the weather is nice, I recommend taking the water taxi there from downtown so you can soak up some of the sights on the river! -Patrick
This is one of my favorite buildings in Chicago! Each business within is historically appropriate to the 1890s (when it was first built). My highlights are Field and Florist (they carry beautiful arrangements but also a highly curated perfume selection - delightful sensory experience!) and Bistro Monadnock (this is what I picture when I think of "The Perfect Restaurant"). - Marie
Great plants. What more can you say! -Patrick
The architecture within the Cultural Center is incredible! And, there are always really wonderful art exhibits that rotate through. My highlight is BUDDY on the first floor - it's a gift shop full of local artist-made goods. - Marie
My favorite vintage store in Chicago! Extremely well curated - treasure trove!! I love sifting through the racks - Marie
