We’re getting married!

We met while we were working at McDonald’s in high school. Makayla was not looking for anything serious. Patrick was determined to sweep her off her feet. As a result, they ended up falling in love. They have been together ever since. The couple has persevered through years of long-distance due to schooling and the typical responsibilities of being young adults. Regardless of the struggles, the couple knew that they were made to be together! <3

It was Christmas Eve. What seemed to be a typical day, the ending became quite suspicious. While driving home from a family Christmas party, Patrick was sharing about how he was so excited to share Christmas gifts at home. (We always open our gifts to each other on Christmas Eve :)) He actually said that he was "giddy" about it. Makayla never once in the 5 1/2 years of dating has heard him use the word "giddy" so she felt something was up, but she left it to his "holiday spirit." When they arrived home, Patrick made sure to turn on all the Christmas lights in their home. (Makayla loves all her Christmas decorations) Patrick opened all his Christmas gifts first. There was one gift left. It was hidden within a wooden box that a cylinder head would come in. Makayla opened the lid and inside was tons of tissue paper and one long roll of wrapping paper. Inside, she dug to find her gift. To her surprise, it was a small box. At first, she thought it was earrings. But then, it was so much more. It was then, during that part of the evening, Patrick asked Makayla to marry him. YAY!
