Lindsay and Patrick met in 2015 in Dallas, TX at Del Frisco's Grill. Lindsay was waiting tables part-time and Patrick was bartending. In fact, Patrick was one of the people who trained Lindsay when she first started. Lindsay had a little crush on Patrick but nothing ever came of it until one afternoon Lindsay convinced her friend Katie to meet up with Patrick and his friends at Katy Trail Ice House. Patrick must have liked Lindsay too (or just didn't realize what he was getting himself into) because he willingly agreed to go with them to a whole-the-wall karaoke bar called The Crown & Harp and didn't run for the hills after hearing her sing which meant he definitely was a keeper. The two started dating shortly after that – must have been Lindsay's rendition of Aerosmith's 'I Don't Want to Miss a Thing' that sealed the deal – and well...the rest is history.

Patrick proposed to Lindsay on Christmas Eve 2020 and it's safe to say she was more than surprised. Don't be fooled, there were plenty of clues that should have tipped her off but she was just completely oblivious. When Lindsay & Patrick arrived in Harlingen, Lindsay was adamant about taking Patrick to the hunting lease. She begged her dad and each time he refused, giving her a bunch of BS excuses. Those that know Ted well, know this is completely out of character (so is keeping a secret so kudos, pops) because he loves when his kids show interest in hunting or fishing. The day Patrick popped the question, he & Lindsay along with his sneaky accomplices – Patty, Ned, Ashley & McKayla – made plans to go down to the South Padre for the day. As per usual, Lindsay tried wearing a baggy t-shirt and leggings. Ned insisted she dress nicer and Patty even made several backhanded comments about fixing her hair – still no light bulb. After a delicious breakfast and mimosas at Yummies, they made a pitstop at the beach house. Ned, Ashley & McKayla made their way to the beach to “take some cute pics with Mckayla’s nice camera” while the rest held back to pour a walktail. Lindsay opting for the ever-classy Bud Light. As they made their way down to the beach to catch up to the rest of the crew, Patrick made every effort to pull Lindsay away from her family. Finally, he pointed out “Will you Marry Me?” in the sand. To which, Lindsay shouted “Hey guys, look! Isn’t this cute? Someone got engaged here!” (Like we said, totally oblivious) Patrick pulled her back as she walked away asking to take a photo, saying “It’d be a shame to let it go to waste.” Ned pulled a nifty bit of sleight of hand to get the Bud Light from her grasp, to which he claims if he'd let his sister get proposed to with a beer in her hand, he failed as a brother. It wasn’t until she turned around to see Patrick fumbling in his pocket and getting down on one knee that she realized what was going on and said yes!
