FAQs

Question

Do I need to wear a mask?

Answer

Please bring a mask for all family members, as they will be requested from airlines, stores, restaurants, and other public places throughout the trip. Steamboat currently requests them in public places such as grocery stores, retail stores, etc. Our wedding venue may also request that masks be considered while being seated for dinner or when using the restroom, and all venue staff will be required to wear a mask while interacting with our guests. Masks will be provided for all guests at the wedding in case they are needed.

Question

What is the status of the Welcome Event?

Answer

We are no longer able to have the Welcome Event as originally planned, but we are in the process of working out a new plan so that we can welcome all of our guests to Steamboat on Sunday, July 12! Please stay tuned and we will reach out to our guests individually closer to the wedding date once plans are finalized!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

The wedding ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors, in a grassy area by the lake. Please wear shoes that you will be able to comfortably walk in grass. There is no strict dress code, but cocktail or semi-formal attire is recommended. Catamount does not allow denim, tee shirts, or 'short' shorts. Although we will be outdoors for some time, Steamboat's weather is different from Kentucky weather in that the humidity is significantly less and it is not likely to feel like it would at a local outdoor wedding in July. Also, consider bringing your sunglasses!

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Yes, there will be transportation provided by GoAlpine to shuttle guests to Catamount. Please let us know where you are staying when you RSVP, and we will reach out to our attending guests with the shuttle's pickup locations and times closer to the wedding date.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We highly recommend the Sheraton or the Grand, both located in Gondola Square. We also recommend the Hampton Inn, which is located between Gondola Square and Downtown, which are the two main areas of town. Alternatively, Airbnb and VRBO offer great lodging options in Steamboat. If you choose to book an Airbnb or VRBO, we recommend staying within Routt County limits, close to Gondola Square/Steamboat Resort area or downtown. Steamboat offers free transportation between Gondola Square and Downtown. Staying outside of Routt County will limit transportation options if you do not have your own vehicle.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, there is plenty of parking available at Catamount for guests who choose to drive.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

You will be asked at the time you RSVP if you have any serious food allergies. Please make sure to submit them with your RSVP as soon as possible so that we can make arrangements.
