We met through HVNABA, a male adult baseball league. My nephew Josh joined the Hudson Valley Astros in 2018. Pat was one of the founding members of the team in which I became a loyal fan to. The following year another team members girlfriend and I decided we wanted to play, making history as the first two women in the league. Once he grew the courage, Pat messaged me with the pickup line "So what exactly is a Park Naturalist?". He left his family Christmas party to meet me at the batting cages for our first real chance to talk in person. He became my biggest supporter for baseball, spending many a night at Extra Innings. More time started being spent driving around the Hudson Valley, flying his drone, stargazing, lunar eclipse photography, baseball baseball and more baseball, hiking and travel; all the things we quickly learned we loved separately, now became a pair activity. Before we knew it we were joined at the hip. After only a week of dating I confessed to my mom that I thought he was the one, to which she replied "don't get ahead of yourself you barely know the man." But I knew. Before we hit a year of dating we both knew we never wanted to be apart, and decided to buy a house. One we have since poured a lot of love (and Paint) into. And of course shortly after moving in we were ready to rescue a dog, our child Bandit! A year following that, 2021, Pat proposed in the Adirondacks on our two year anniversary vacation. Complete with a mustache, green hair, no makeup, and mushroom hat, the day was perfectly us. Now after 4 years together and countless adventures we are more than ready for the next big step. A day to share with all our family and friends, celebrating our story and promises of the future.
